Morning baskets are all the rage and I had to jump on board and I love it! I love having my “me” basket altogether, ready for me to use. Waking up early in the morning, before my kids, making a cup of coffee, sitting in the silence with a blanket, and reaching for all my favorite “me time” items. It puts me in the best mood.
The basket contains items that bring me closer to Christ, that bring me peace, and bring me joy. It is the perfect recipe for a relaxing morning that gets me ready for the daily chaos.

The Items in My Morning Basket
Bible-
Reading the Bible every day is the goal. I try to read a whole chapter every day. I decided not to start at the beginning. My spiritual advisor told me to start on a book that interests me. I started on the Acts of the Apostles. This is the Bible that I am using. I’ve been really enjoying using this notetaking Bible by Blessed Is She, that my husband got me last year for Christmas. Usually I like to stay with the Vulgate or the Douay-Rheims Bibles, but I was wanting one that I could take notes in and really explore my thoughts on the passages. Blessed Is She makes beautiful products and I very happy with this one.
Rosary-
Starting my morning with the Rosary is so such a power move. It combines prayer and meditation. The mornings that I say the Rosary honestly lead to a more peaceful day. I, personally, love wooden rosaries like this one. Having one in my basket is so helpful to remember to say it.
Planner-
I like to plan my week. Teacher’s planners work best for me so that I can pretty easily block schedule. I have found that for myself planning around my energy level is best for me. For example, mornings are not a time of day that I am productive. I like calm, relaxing mornings. My energy level spikes around 1pm and so I plan to do all of my housework from 1-6pm, including making dinner.
Spiritual Reading or Seasonal Devotional-
I try not to have too many books I’m reading at one time, but in this particular category I can have up to three. I like to read one Spiritual reading book that helps me with my vocation (or calling from God) as a mother or as a future saint 🙂 Currently, I’m reading The Young Man of Character by Bishop Tihamer Toth, as a mother of 5 boys. It is giving me such great insight into raising my boys to be gentleman and real men of character. I definitely recommend it.
The second book in this category that I’m reading is a seasonal devotional. I love this daily Seasonal Saint book by Fr. Patrick Troadec. He has one for all 4 seasons. These books include a short biography of the saint for the day, what the saint is the patron or patroness of, a prayer, a couple of quotes, and some resolutions on how we can live our lives like the saint.
Lent is right around the corner and so I will be adding Toward Easter by Fr. Patrick Troadec as well. I love using this Lenten devotional every year. It has a similar structure of the seasonal book I described above.
Here are some more Lenten Devotionals and good reads for the season of Lent.
Fun Reading-
I love fun reading. Some times it’s Jane Austen, sometimes it’s Hunger Games, etc. Right now, I’m reading Cold Comfort Farm by Stella Gibbons for my book club this month.
Relaxing Hobby-
I’m using 2026 to hone in on my hobbies and try and find the ones I’m good at and like the best. This year I got a few beginner kits to try and learn how to crochet (Woobles), how to knit, diamond art, cross stitch, etc. I would also put Sudoku, a coloring book with these markers that I love, or embroidery in there, too. Only one activity goes into my basket at a time.
It is really nice to try these kits to find a hobby I enjoy and that I’m good at. If you aren’t a hobby girl, I would suggest trying a few and finding one you like.
Plus I really want to be able to teach my kids how to do some of them as well.
I love my morning basket and all the items in it.
Conclusion
Morning baskets can help make your morning run smoothly by having all of your items in one place. I will be fully transparent…
My morning basket isn’t just used in the morning, I use it at night too.
